I am having English lessons these days- yesterday was the 6th I think. My English is bad so I really need these lessons. It was a long time ago when I last time had the possibility to speak English.
In the camp-oh yes it was called English camp but it was far from its name. German instead.... but I don't even mind; I enjoyed (almost) every moment there. Apart from the rain, from the freezing weather and apart from the annoying accents-the way the German leaders communicated. I like Germans speaking German. I like Germans speaking English. But I'm not keen on the Austrian German mixed with English.
I have a big project to work on; the family-tree! Grandfather's stories are very exciting. Granny and
Grandfather(mom's parents) divorced when mom was about ten I think. After that mom lost the connection with grandfather. After my sister's birth, about my 12th bday mom and grandfather started to meet again so now I can say that we have a really good relationship and we often go to visit him in his home. A few months ago during one of these visitations grandfather mentioned a very interesting thing. His grandmother and grandfather emigrated to the USA. His mother was too young(only about 2 months old) so they had to let her with step-parents. They settled down in Illinois and a few years later his grandfather returned to Hungary again-he wanted to take his daughter to the USA, too. My great-grandmother so my grandfather's mom didn't want to go with his dad-the stepparents trained her in a strange way so she believed that she couldn't sustain the long voyage. She decided to stay here in Hungary. His dad waited a few months and as a bad husband he found a woman here, too. Andere Städchen andere Mädchen, ja? His wife-such a surprise- became aware of his lover and when he wanted to return to the USA(without his daughter) he couldn't. His wife was very angry with him. He settled down in Hungary again and left the rest of the family in Illinois with his wife. The had had three other children who stayed with their mother. Louis, Mary and Victoria. Lujza, my great-grandmother married to my great-grandfather, Lajos and a few years later my grandfather was born.
He has shown me a document-the family tree's missing link! I decided to look up my relations. To contact them. So yes, here we are........
